First of all, I would like to inform everyone and remind myself that my bloodtype is B+. God, to think I thought I was bloodtype O-something all along zzz. Happened that we were having biology lab in school one day and all of us had to take a drop of our blood to check which blood group we're in, and I figured it out.
I was woken up by boyf's call at 4am this morning after he reached home from watching Transformers with his friends, and continued to sleep through after chatting for awhile. Woke up at 10am later and took the binoculars to his house. We met up with Choonngee at the bus stop before going to Jurong Point to meet Weecheong and Zhili. Then the guys got off at Jurong East to wait for more people (they were going for the National Stadium event) and I went to City Hall to meet my friends for the NDP rehearsal at Marina Bay.
I saw my cousin, Melvin, ushering with his uniform on, and a friend from primary school lol. Singapore is sooo small.
Marina Bay's very much smaller than our National Stadium and looks as if it is still under development, when it's actually not. You'd be disappointed if you compare the standards. Nevertheless it has its good points, if not it wouldn't be chosen for National Day anyway. You can see the CBD area, the expressway and the Ferris Wheel very clearly.
Shows a lot of "Singapore", if you get what I mean.
However, for rehearsals, our goody bags becomes plastic bags and there's only a bottle of mineral water, a packet of Yeo's, 2 packs of tissue and the bag of snack shown below. It's definitely extra crunchy, but has no cheesy flavour even though it smells strongly of cheese when you open it. Oh well, can't expect much for rehearsals. Boo to that.
Songs not related to National Day were played, like 想和你去吹吹风 by 张学友. DUH. -.-
There were dragon boat teams from three schools, which I'd forgotten the names, competing to see who reaches the line first. And because it's a rehearsal, there was only one dragon boat team, 'competing' with two motorboats. >_> There's also JuzB's performance and some bhangra society's. Then a young boy sitting at the row behind me (I have no idea what happened) got hit while apparently moving about and started to bleed from his forehead. Not really serious but he was crying nonstop. Funny thing was Amanda, Chenlin and I started saying to one another, "Eh nurse, faster go and help!" HAHA, of cause it was loud enough for us only lol. Then the T'ang Quartet performed, followed by sky-diving.
The uniformed groups:
This reads NDP 07. Seriously, I have no inkling how old is Singapore this year. Actually I don't care even if I know, I mean, just as long as Singapore celebrates her birthday every year. I think it's a her.
This reads NS 40. That's the age for National Service.
And this, is my personal favourite part of the entire parade haha. The fighter planes really can make the whole ground tremble and I always feel like I'm in one of them. Haha.
Next two will tell you how not nice it is to be watching an NDP rehearsal. You got phoney "president" and "guests of honour" holding up A3-size cards to show you who they are representing, and "singers" with a piece of paper covering the face. Wiseasses.
Haha. I don't know about this. Just thought it looks like wings/angel, lol. The parade was rather boring at some point, that's why.
Okay, I'm getting lazy and tired. So there, enjoy the remaining photos! (:
BYE AND GOODNIGHT. |
